My rating: 4 of 5 stars
While not quite as strong, as the movie, and with an ending that seemed too rushed to me (my sister suggested it might be the editor's fault), this is a really nice children's novel, the language is easy to understand, emotions and situations are convincing.
And the characters, sometimes they seem so real that you almost see them before your eyes.
And not the way they are in the movie (Iggy, for example, is quite a different person, and plays a much more positive role in the novel).
